With Christmas lights all aglow
At this special time of year
We’re reminded of a baby born
A memory so clear
There was no star to guide the way
Wise men could not be found
Just two people full of joy and fear
Listening to their hearts pound
There was no room at the inn
So they were sent away
To find another calm, safe place
In hopes of hitting the hay
They didn’t know a single soul
Everyone here was just a stranger
But these folk would help them to birth
And lay their baby in a manger
As Christmas songs filled the air
They heard a little cry
All of their relief and love
Came out in a deep sigh
They had so many visitors
Who had come from far and wide
They brought gifts and sat with them a while
Right by the baby’s side
So much love surrounded them
As if they were filled with light
Which circled and embraced them all
Like cuddles in the night
The baby taught them all so much
Through their calm and peaceful way
And so we will always remember them
But especially this day
